Frequently asked questions about this category

Is natural stone suitable for a bathroom?

+

Yes, provided you follow two rules. A water-repellent treatment applied before first use, to seal the stone's porosity and limit absorption. And gentle daily care: dry after use, neutral soap, no acidic products such as commercial limescale removers. White marbles (Calacatta, Thassos, Statuario), travertines and Italian limestones make bathrooms of incomparable quality, as long as you accept a living relationship with the material.

Which thickness should I choose?

+

The standard thickness is 2 cm for a floor or wall cladding, and 3 cm for a vanity or kitchen worktop. Solid islands are designed in 4 or 5 cm for sharp edges and a monolithic look. For a top with a basin carved into the stone, the thickness goes up to at least 6 cm. Our design office confirms the thickness according to the intended design, the technical span and the load the support can bear.

How long does made-to-measure stone take?

+

For made-to-measure stone (vanity top, island, cladding with specific cuts), allow 6 to 10 weeks between layout approval and delivery to the workshop. We work with Petra Stones and Marmi, two Italian houses that guarantee consistent batches and high-quality cutting. Rare stones or large signature slabs may take longer, depending on block availability. A materials adviser gives you a precise lead time with your quote.
