Design wall coverings, materials and textures for walls
A wall is not a neutral surface, it is a material to be worked like a floor or a worktop. Textile, leather, linen, suede, metal, wood, ceramic, sculpted relief, each family brings its own tone, density and way of catching the light. At Atelier Matière, we distribute the editors who have made the wall their speciality, Arte for textile wall coverings and signature pieces, Fornace Brioni for Cristina Celestino's glazed terracotta, Orac Decor for 3D Duropolymer® wall panels, and Pierre Frey and Thévenon for wallpapers.
The choice is made in the room, in the light, in dialogue with the rest of the project. A single wall is often enough, a wall covering does not need to cover the entire space to create an atmosphere.
Arte textile wall coverings
From Belgium, Arte publishes high-end textile wall coverings, linen, suede, leather, silk, bouclé, metal. The Les Tapisseries, Indienne, Zephyr and Allures collections are refreshed each season. Glued to a sound wall, finished by professionals. A living room, a bedroom, an entrance hall, a wet room for the vinyl ranges, the wall becomes an inhabited material.
Fornace Brioni glazed terracotta
Fornace Brioni, with Cristina Celestino as art director, reinvents Italian glazed terracotta from Gonzaga. Araldica, Giardino all'italiana and Palladiana collections, in formats and motifs that assemble pattern by pattern. Applied to walls or floors, especially in rooms where the material is meant to be touched, kitchen, dining room, living room.
Orac Decor 3D wall panels
The Orac Decor W range offers Duropolymer® wall panels with geometric reliefs, waves, flutes and graphic stripes. Ready to paint and installed with Decofix adhesive, they give an entire wall the density of a sculpted décor, in a contemporary or classical register depending on the paint chosen.
Signed wallpapers
Pierre Frey (Pierre Frey, Braquenié, Le Manach, Fadini Borghi and Boussac manufactures) and Thévenon publish fresh collections of signed wallpapers each season, printed in Europe. From historic large-scale motifs to contemporary prints, they frame a bedroom, a corridor, a headboard. We advise on both selection and installation.
